THE MOVIE AND THE BOOK

The movie doesn't spend much time on the bishop as he isn't the main character. However the book does concentrate on the bishop for quite a bit. We do get to the point where Jean Valjean meets the bishop but a lot of the details in the book are missing in the movie as its more fast pace. Like Jean Valjean finding the bishop instead of being directed to him by a lady. The SINGLE BIGGEST DIFFRENCE IS THAT THERE ARE NO SONGS IN THE BOOK. Other than this the movie goes ahead to the rest of the book which we haven't read.

FINAL REFLECTION FOR WORLD LITERATURE 2020-2021

I thought going into my sophomore year of high school would have been like going into high school as a freshmen but with less anxiety and less getting lost looking for classes. I also had high hopes for the end of our freshmen year. However I did not expect my freshmen year to end with me at home locked in my room. It was kind of surprising that we suddenly went into quarantine right after they said there was a possibility of going into quarantine in a few days. So far this school year has been a rollercoaster of surprises and it has took a while to get used to everything.      Before I used to dread English class. The only thing I looked forward to in it was the very few books that caught my interest and the silent reading. This English course was different from other courses however. Apart from other classes this English course actually caught my interest. However the subjects in this course where still considered at least to me, a bit boring, but that wasn't what intereste

LES MIS BK 2 CH7

I got a little lost in this chapter but I did find it interesting how Jean Valjean thought of the world. We got to see a bit about what he though of others and got to see what he thought of himself and the actions he took. Surprisingly he was self aware that he did do a bad thing and was ashamed of it, but he did think that they punished him unfairly for a petty crime like stealing bread. He also though of the world as unfair to people like him who could barely make enough money to live even though they worked hard. His points of view where quiet intriguing and I do agree with a lot of them in a way.

LES MIS BK 2 CH 6

We got more back story on our main character Jean Valjean and a reason as to why he was put in jail. After going over this chapter it makes me feel pain for Jean Valjean and what he had to got through in his life. He basically lost his entire family. The reason why he was put in jail was super unfair to me as he was basically put between a rock and a hard place. Its a person with good intentions forced to do a bad thing. Jean Valjean was either forced to steal food like the bread he stole to feed his family or watch them slowly starve to death. This just shows how unfair the world can be to some people and how they could still be labeled bad or criminal even though they where doing it to save someone or themselves.

LES MIS BK 2 CH5

Jean was rather uncertain in this chapter. He still didn't understand why the Bishop trusted him so much and kind of mocked him by saying how did he not know he wasn't an assassin. Yet the Bishop trusted him regardless his past.
