LES MIS CH 11

We get an explanation on why the bishop acted the way he did towards the former member of the French convention.  The argument the bishop had with him only made him more gentle as he was surprised at himself for ever having an attitude like that. We got to see why he had a hatred towards luxury as he saw it as an inconvenience and knew what the poor peoples conditions where while other people have all the luxury's. The Bishop also had two brothers a general and a perfect, and he showed more affection to  the perfect than his other brother which really surprised me as I never thought of him to act like that with his own siblings. Being more harsh and stern to his general brother by going after the emperor. I liked this chapter as it gave an explanation and reasoning to why the bishop acts the way he does towards political subjects.

 October 29  I balance my need for individuality and to fit in by finding people who would accept me for me. To others who may come across our friend group we may seem weird, strange, or dumb. August, 20     Question : Why is it that so many young people want to be older, and so many older people want to be young? How do you feel about your age?      Younger people want to be older to be seen as more mature and responsible. Some may want to be older in order to work and earn their own money, be able to live in on their own, or any other adult like subject that seems fun and exciting in their eyes. They mainly just want to be older or seen as an older individual in order to stop being nagged at by others and have freedom in their lives without someone looking over their shoulders at all times. However older people want to be younger in order to reclaim their youthful, energetic, and stronger self they used to have. Some may just want to look younger or not have as many responsibilities like taxes. As for me I feel stuck in the middle. LES MIS BK 2 CH 6

 We got more back story on our main character Jean Valjean and a reason as to why he was put in jail. After going over this chapter it makes me feel pain for Jean Valjean and what he had to got through in his life. He basically lost his entire family. The reason why he was put in jail was super unfair to me as he was basically put between a rock and a hard place. Its a person with good intentions forced to do a bad thing. Jean Valjean was either forced to steal food like the bread he stole to feed his family or watch them slowly starve to death. This just shows how unfair the world can be to some people and how they could still be labeled bad or criminal even though they where doing it to save someone or themselves.
