MY OPINION IS THAT I AM NOT ENTITLED

Many people use the phrase that "I have the right to my opinion" when in an argument to try and not only belittle others opinions, but also use it as an escape for when they have been cornered in an argument or debate . Just like using the straw man argument in disagreements between you an another person, when the words "I have the right to my opinion" are said in an argument it completely discredits the other persons opinions and evidence / facts that they used. This would be like saying to a person, "my opinion is more valid than yours and you should accept it as fact" in the middle of a argument. A person who has said "I have a right to my opinion" isn't ready to have a proper argument with you, but is just there to try to implement there views an opinions on you without reliable evidence. As I said before this is very reminiscent to using the Straw Man argument, where instead of trying to rebuttal the other persons argument and reasoning they rebuttal something completely unrelated to the subject that they are arguing about. Instead they try making the impression of there own opinion being superior to there opponents by refuting something unrelated to there opponents original opinion. The same can be said about saying " I have the right to my opinion" in an argument; trying to make it seem as if your in the right when in reality you where cornered in the argument. Which ever the person decides to use, they know they have been backed into a corner and are stopping any further discussion on the disagreement at hand. For them they seem to believe they are Entitled to there opinion and if disproven otherwise, then the other person is clearly wrong. Saying that you are entitled to that opinion would stop you from making any further progression in life by making you believe into your own delusions and not allowing you to learn from your mistakes.
